Today, the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO) announced their endorsement of Amy Kennedy, candidate for New Jersey’s second Congressional district.

AFL-CIO is a democratic, voluntary federation of 55 national and international labor unions that represent 12.5 million working men and women.

“I’m proud to have the AFL-CIO’s endorsement and support. We are living in unprecedented times and must work harder than ever to protect South Jersey’s working families,” said Amy Kennedy. “In Congress, I’ll fight alongside our unions to ensure that working families have the benefits they need and I’ll work tirelessly to give our frontline heroes the protections they deserve.”

“Now more than ever, it’s important that we stand united in protecting workers. In New Jersey, thousands are losing their jobs because of COVID-19 and are going to lose hard-earned federal unemployment benefits that keep a roof over their heads and food on their tables,” said Charles Wowkanech, President of the New Jersey State AFL-CIO. “We are proud to endorse Amy Kennedy, because we know she is committed to ensuring the protection of workers during these challenging times. Amy will work to ensure that our recovery efforts benefit everyone, not just corporate interests and will always stand up for our frontline heroes. Amy will be a voice for all workers in Congress.”
