Altman Concedes CD-7 Congressional Race

Organizations representing consumers, communities, families, small businesses, immigrants, environmental advocacy, and workers from dozens of fields and industries sign letter urging the NJ legislature to pass a millionaire’s tax either as part of Governor Phil Murphy’s proposed 2020 state budget or separately as its own piece of legislation.
Today, Sue Altman conceded in the race to represent New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District.

Sue Altman issued the following statement:

“Running to serve NJ-07 has been the honor of a lifetime. While we didn’t achieve the result we were hoping for, I am incredibly proud of the campaign we built and the grassroots movement across NJ that continues to fight for our democracy.

Congressman Kean now has the responsibility to represent every person in this district. He must have the political courage this moment requires to defend our democracy and be the independent voice the people of NJ-07 demand.

It is my genuine hope he rises to the occasion and serves us well over the next two years.”

  1. Sue Altman was a wealthy white woman, who only appealed to other wealthy white women. When you have such a small policy platform, in a time of horrendous inequality, you should expect to lose. She had every opportunity to go after banks, Wall street, Silicon Valley, increasing workers rights, any popular middle and working class issue, but she only cared about abortion. And she lost for it.
