Anderson moves to Private Sector, Dickinson Promoted in LD11
Matt Anderson, Chief of Staff to Assemblymembers Eric Houghtaling and Joann Downey, will move on to the private sector, joining Direct Development, the Monmouth County based marketing and communications firm. He will continue to serve as a fundraising and political consultant to Houghtaling and Downey. Prior to becoming Chief of Staff, Anderson, a long-time Monmouth Democrats operative, served as Executive Director at the county party under then Chairman Vin Gopal. He has coordinated successful Democratic takeovers in Atlantic Highlands, Matawan, Neptune City and Red Bank and continues to serve as an operative for the Monmouth Democrats.
Replacing Anderson will be Monmouth Dems operative Erin Dickinson. She currently serves as Deputy Chief of Staff and Constituent Services Director. She has run the GOTV paid canvass operation for the Monmouth Democrats in 2015, 2016 and 2017, most recently assisting Houghtaling and Downey with a 5,500+ vote margin re-election.
Both Anderson and Dickinson have played a major role in Monmouth Dems victories in recent years, with overall net gains in 5 straight years – 14 Republicans have lost their seats in District 11 in recent years and not a single local Democrat has lost.
