BUCKS COUNTY – Keep focused. That’s the message from Pennsylvania Democratic Committee Chairman Sharif Street. Drama inevitably tugs. Soap opera tempts. The planted seed of division tantalizes.

Now is the time for Democrats in battleground Pennsylvania to execute. They have 50,000 volunteers. They knocked on 1.3 million doors. GOTV is what they do. They need to do it, the chairman asserts.

Don’t get lulled into every poll.

Democrats, says Street, are up by one with a minute 30 seconds on the clock. They have the ball on their side of the 50. If they fumble, Trump will run it in for a touchdown or kick a field goal.

CNN analyst Van Jones last night after the town hall said Trump is lawless while people expect Democrat Kamala Harris “to be flawless.” She has to be “twice as good and work twice as hard,” Street acknowledged of the first Black woman nominated by either major party for the presidency. “But you don’t hear her whining about it,” he added of his candidate for president, a simultaneous dig at Trump, whose every attempt at communication contains a profusion of self-pity.

Finally, says Street, “If you care about housing, Kamala Harris is the person with the plan and a $25,000 grant for first-time homebuyers. If you’re for voting rights, Kamala Harris is the person standing up for democracy and not questioning the results of a fair and free election. If you care about women’s reproductive rights, Kamala Harris is the person defending women’s freedom, while Donald Trump and J.D. Vance laugh at women, and Kamala Harris fights for workers and labor while refusing to scapegoat immigrants, and every case, it is Kamala Harris focused on a plan for people – real people – while Donald Trump acts like a jackass and can’t figure it out.”
