Asm. Bramnick Discusses Gov. Murphy, Pres. Trump & COVID-19 on Think Tank with Steve Adubato

Recorded on 8/4/20, Steve Adubato talks to Assemblyman Jon Bramnick (R) – NJ, Republican Leader, about Gov. Murphy’s plans to reopen the state’s economy, President Trump’s leadership throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and the impact of the President’s decision to not attend the funeral service for the late Rep. John Lewis.

Asm. Jon Bramnick ( R) – NJ says Governor Murphy should have hearings to discuss issues with COVID-19 rather than go into a back room and have decisions already made. He says, “The question becomes, have the restaurant owners have an opportunity to be heard in front of the public? Epidemiologists, multiple doctors haven’t been heard, people who run restaurants inside and outside have not been heard. So, the bottom line is, have hearings and then after the public debate, say ‘I heard both sides, now here’s my decision.’ ” Asm. Bramnick says he’s concerned about COVID-19 but that it is difficult to lock down a society.

Asm. Bramnick rates President Trump’s overall presidential performance as “terrible.” He says President Trump has been publicly critical of several politicians and even his own public health leaders. In addition, he says President Trump needs to keep his personal issues away from politics. For instance, because of personal issues, President Trump decided not to attend Rep. John Lewis’ funeral.
