Asm. Jon Bramnick Discusses the State’s Role During the COVID-19 Crisis with Steve Adubato

Recorded on 3/20/20, Steve Adubato sits down with Asm. Jon Bramnick (R) – NJ, Republican Leader, to talk about the long-term economic impact of COVID-19 and the role of the state government during the public health crisis.

Asm. Bramnick discusses the long term economic impact on several industries as a result of the pandemic. He feels the state government has to provide both individuals and businesses the confidence and support to get through this challenging time. He says, “The government must be there for everyone and they must know that we are leading.”

Asm. Bramnick also says political debate does not have a place in the lives of Americans right now. He adds that we are coming together as New Jerseyans, “You don’t see any political sniping, you see everyone working together. And I’ve prayed for that moment in the normal course of business and now we really need it more than ever.” Asm. Bramnick explains that a bill was passed allowing the Legislature to vote and hold sessions remotely, which will be helpful for not only this crisis but other national emergencies in the future.

Asm. Bramnick adds, “The only thing that matters is that we’re taking care of neighbors and we’re working together to get through one of the most difficult periods in the history of this world. And that should be the sole focus right now.”
