Assemblyman Herb Conaway, MD (D-Burlington) has promoted Mitchell Zupko to the Chief of Staff position effective immediately. Zupko has worked in Conaway’s District 7 office since 2018. He has served as Director of Constituent Services, Policy Director, Deputy Chief of Staff, and Acting Chief of Staff.

“I am pleased to have Mitchell continue on as my next Chief of Staff,” said Assemblyman Conaway. “Over the past three and a half years, he has grown into each role that he has taken on. He is a great addition to my office, and I look forward to working with him to serve the residents of Legislative District 7, Burlington County, and New Jersey as a whole.”

“I’m honored to have been given the opportunity to work with Assemblyman Conaway and to have been named his Chief of Staff,” stated Zupko. “Assemblyman Conaway is a veteran legislator and someone I view as a mentor. As an Air Force veteran and the only New Jersey legislator with both a medical and law degree, he has challenged me to think creatively about both legislation and solving the issues our constituents face every day. I look forward to working with him in this new role to address the issues of the people of New Jersey.”

Prior to joining Assemblyman Conaway’s office, Zupko worked as a researcher for American Bridge 21st Century and the Chris Koster gubernatorial race in Missouri. He holds a bachelor’s degree from The George Washington University where he studied Economics and Political Science.
