Assemblyman Rooney Announces Ishan Shah as Chief of Staff; Johnston Heading To Private Sector

Assemblyman Kevin J. Rooney (R-Bergen) today announced that Ishan Shah will serve as chief of staff to his legislative office.
“I’m proud to announce Ishan Shah as my next chief of staff,” said Rooney. “Ishan brings long-standing relationships and a wealth of knowledge on state government that will benefit my constituents. I look forward to working with him as I continue to fight for the hardworking families of 40th Legislative District and throughout New Jersey.”
“On a personal note, I would like to thank Amy Johnston for her years of dedicated and loyal service to me and New Jersey as my chief of staff. I wish Amy all the best as she enters the private sector”.

A native of North Bergen, Shah previously served as director of strategic initiatives to Bob Hugin’s U.S. senate campaign overseeing outreach to non-traditional groups and community leaders. Prior to working for Hugin, Shah served in the office of the governor for four years under Gov. Chris Christie and as legislative aide to Assemblyman Erik Peterson.
Shah currently resides in Old Bridge. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Rutgers University in New Brunswick.
