The BGill Group, the public affairs and political consulting firm founded by veteran New Jersey political strategist Brendan Gill, has joined the re-election campaign of Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small, the Small campaign announced Wednesday.

Gill, who led Phil Murphy’s successful 2017 campaign for governor of New Jersey, has over 20 years of experience in federal, state and local government. Gill also managed the successful campaigns of U.S. Senator Cory Booker, and the late U.S. Senator Frank Lautenberg.

“We are excited to be working with Brendan Gill and his team to make sure the progress we have been making in Atlantic City continues,” Small said.  “Atlantic City voters have already shown their support and enthusiasm for the hard work and vision we have restored to city leadership. With Brendan Gill on board, Atlantic City voters can feel confident that their voices are heard and their votes are counted,” Small said.

“Atlantic City has made tremendous progress in a very short period of time under Mayor Small’s leadership,” said Brendan Gill. “Atlantic City is a crucial asset to our state and Mayor Small’s accomplishments speak for themselves. We are looking forward to working with Mayor Small and his team to keep Atlantic City’s future in the hands of sound and inspired leadership,” Gill said.

Mayor Marty Small, Sr., who was elected to a one-year term as mayor in a special election in November, 2020 is seeking his first four-year mayoral term on a slate with council at-large candidates Stephanie Marshall, George Tibbit and Bruce Weekes. Gill will be advising the ticket through the June 8, 2021 Democratic primary and general election on Nov. 2, 2021.
