A 42-year old Atlantic City man with underlying health conditions is the latest Atlantic County resident to die as a result of COVID-19. The Atlantic County Division of Public Health reported his death on Friday, April 10th, along with 24 new cases of the virus bringing the total number of residents who have tested positive to 222 and seven deaths.

Of the 24 confirmed today, 14 are men, ages 13-63 and 10 are women, ages 31-91. They include four each from Egg Harbor Township, Galloway and Hamilton Twp.; three from Atlantic City; two each from Hammonton and Weymouth Twp.; and one each from Buena, Buena Vista Twp., Folsom, Mullica and Pleasantville.

Atlantic County will provide COVID-19 drive-thru testing for symptomatic county residents with a doctor’s prescription on Tuesday, April 14 and Thursday, April 16 behind the Hamilton Mall in Mays Landing, 10 AM – 1 PM, by appointment.

According to the NJDOH, there have been 3,627 new cases, for a statewide total of  54,588 cases, on Friday, April 10th.  There has been an additional 232 fatalities, for a statewide total of 1,932 deaths.
