State Senator Kip Bateman on Friday called for a legislative investigation into the questionable last-minute bill changes to the Economic Opportunity Act allegedly made by an unregistered lobbyist with ties to South Jersey Democratic Party Power Broker George Norcross III.

“We need to investigate,” Bateman told InsiderNJ. “We need either a select or special committee to examine this because it does not pass the smell text.”

State Attorney General Gurbir Grewal is already looking into the Economic Development Authority tax incentive program, including a criminal referral supplied by Governor Phil Murphy’s EDA Task Force.
