Bergenfield Councilman Arvin Amatorio Announces Run for Mayor, Alongside Councilmembers Kornbluth and Deauna
Bergenfield Councilman Arvin Amatorio is announcing that he will be running for Mayor in November. Amatorio has the support of the Bergenfield Democratic Committee and he is teaming up with Bergenfield Council President Ora C. Kornbluth and Councilman Buddy Deauna, who will run alongside him. If victorious in November, Amatorio will become New Jersey’s second elected Filipino Mayor.
“Bergenfield is a progressive community that cares for our seniors and works to ensure that our children excel in school and in life. That is why I am raising my family here, why I have dedicated years to public service on the Borough Council, and now why I am running for Mayor of Bergenfield, to continue that mission and make sure our community continues to thrive” said Councilman Amatorio.
Amatorio currently serves as the Bergenfield Council Finance Committee Chairman, where he has drafted the past two municipal budgets with 0% local tax increases. He has worked to implement shared services agreements with other towns to lower borough expenses and save residents tax dollars, as well as spearhead a Disabled Veterans Tax Exemption for veterans and/or their surviving spouses to obtain municipal property tax relief. He serves on the DPW & Parks, and Police Committees.
Council President Kornbluth is the DPW & Parks Committee Chairwoman and serves on the Finance and Police Committees. Councilman Deauna is Chairman of the Building and Grounds Committee and serves on the Fire, and Community Affairs Committees. Together, the Amatorio Democratic Team is running for reelection to continue delivering for the community and working to improve its infrastructure while balancing the budget.
“I have worked with Council President Kornbluth and Councilman Deauna for years, and I know they are dedicated community leaders I can count on to stand with me as we fight to deliver more for our residents while standing up for taxpayers,” said Amatorio.
Arvin Amatorio is a Managing partner of a law firm that specializes in Immigration Law, helping people come to our country to live the American Dream. He and his family are active parishioners at St John’s Church in Bergenfield. As a Councilman, he has organized annual free outreach events, health fairs, and immigration seminars for the community.
