U.S. Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) today announced that MacKenzie Belling will serve as his South Jersey Director, succeeding Bill Moen as Booker’s top aide in southern New Jersey. Belling, a native of Camden County, has served in several positions in both state and local government.
“MacKenzie is well respected in South Jersey and has an established record of serving the people of our great state,” said Booker. “I am thrilled to welcome MacKenzie to our team and look forward to working with her to stand up for all New Jerseyans.”
Prior to joining Booker’s staff, Belling worked in the 5th Legislative District office as a Constituent Services Representative and later as Communications Director. Most recently, she worked as an aide to the Gloucester County Freeholder Board and is currently serving her first term on the Deptford Township Council. Belling earned both a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a Master of Public Administration from Rutgers University – Camden.
It’s an election year for Booker who, amid observable challenges to the establishment of his party, faces a tough Democratic Primary challenge from activist and progressive leader Larry Hamm, chairman of the Bernie Sanders Campaign in New Jersey.
