Booker Clashes with Grassley at Kavanaugh Confirmation Hearing
U.S. Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) this afternoon clashed with Senate Judiciary Chairman Senator Charles Grassley (R-IA) as he prepared to issue his opening statement at the hearing for U.S. Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.
“We did not receive all the documents of his time at the White House,” Booker griped.
“You’re talking about committee confidential, and you have access to them right now,” Grassley shot back. “In regard to some, they were forwarded to us without a second review.”
“We sent a letter days ago. You did not respond to our letter by allowing committee confidential documents,” Booker said.
The Senator decried the hearing on its face.
“This is an absurd process,” said Booker. “I wouldn’t hire an intern in my office if I had only seen ten percent of [his/her] resume.
“It’s insulting to the ideals we try to achieve,” he added.
Faux outrage. Like he would change his vote. He’s rapidly replacing Christie as NJ’s latest embarassment.
