Booker Irritated by Absence of Key Kavanaugh Documents

At today’s confirmation hearing for U.S. Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, U.S. Senator Cory Booker protested what he cited as the absence of key determining information.

“He has an entire body of record, but 90% of his record is being withheld from senators,” Booker said. “We are about to proceed with an historic hearing for a lifetime appointment that will effectuate [so much].”

But senators lack the necessary materials, he said, and added his voice to those of other Democrats seeking a postponement of the hearing.

U.S. Senator Orrin Hatch (R-UT) – who said he’s been involved in the oversight process of 15 Supreme Court nominees – disagreed.

“We’ve received twice as many documents as we have from other nominees,” Hatch said.

  1. Blah, blah, blah. Booker already said he’s a “no” vote. What difference would more documents make? Just more phony grandstanding.
