Joanna Klonsky, a spokesperson for Katie Brennan, issued a note of clarification following news about an August 30th dinner attended by both Brennan and Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez.

“Ms. Brennan met Prosecutor Suarez on August 30th, 2018 for the first and only time,” Klonsky said in a statement. “She did not know the prosecutor during the handling of her case, which was closed on Dec 1, 2017. During the course of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office’s investigation, Ms. Brennan spoke only with Assistant Prosecutor Jane Wiener and Detective Kristin Mikulak.

“Ms. Brennan has not yet been contacted by the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office. I will update the media if/when she is,” the spokesperson said.
