Burlington County Raises Over $300k at Cocktail Reception

Thursday, Burlington County Democratic Chairman Joe Andl and Vice Chairwoman Heather Cooper, together with Senate Majority Whip Troy Singleton (D-7) hosted an event at the Fitler Club in Philadelphia where they raised more than $300k for the benefit of Democratic campaigns throughout Burlington County. In his remarks, Senator Singleton thanked the participants and attendees which included members of several of South Jersey’s building trades, in attendance, and others who sent support but were unable to attend.

Senator Singleton also introduced Burlington County Undersheriff Jim Kostoplis, a career public servant in law enforcement, who is running for Burlington County Sheriff on the same ticket as current Burlington County Commissioner Allison Eckel, who is running for election to the Board of County Commissioners.  Senator Singleton noted this week is a special week to recognize the service of Undersheriff Kostoplis, who 21 years ago, served as a volunteer on 9/11, equipped in full hazmat gear, as he assisted in the search and rescue efforts at the World Trade Center site.

“Burlington County has been governed under a Democratic majority for four years.  During that time Burlington County has maintained the lowest cost per resident in New Jersey, maintained an outstanding credit rating, and lowest county tax in the State,” said Andl. “The overwhelming support demonstrated for tonight’s event will allow the campaigns this year to have all the tools necessary to keep this momentum going.”

  1. Be positive we need democrats in Congress! We need Democrats to win up and down the ticket. Did you miss the art where $300,000 was RAISED! Wish we did this in Ocean County. I wouldn’t care what town it’s hosted in.
