Public Strategy Firm Mercury today announced that Modia “Mo” Butler has been named a Partner at the firm. Butler, who works out of the Mercury’s New Jersey office, joined the firm in 2016.
“Mo Butler is a tremendous asset to Mercury’s New Jersey operation and has helped us grow nationally as well,” said Mercury Partner Mike DuHaime. “Mo’s extensive knowledge of municipal and federal government has made him an integral member of our firm and a trusted adviser to his clients. Most importantly, Mo is a tremendous human being who leads by example. We are fortunate to have him as part of our leadership team.”
Butler joined Mercury as Managing Director coming to the firm from the office of U.S. Senator Cory Booker, where he served as New Jersey chief of staff overseeing the Senator’s New Jersey offices. He remains a senior strategist to Sen. Booker and served as a key political adviser to Newark Mayor Ras Baraka during his successful re-election campaign. In addition, Butler provides strategic advice to other high-profile elected officials in New Jersey and across the country.
“Mo isn’t just one of the most talented political minds in New Jersey and the country, he’s a great friend with an infectious personality,” said Mercury Partner Michael Soliman. “From his experience as Chief of Staff to Cory Booker as Mayor of Newark and then as Senator, Mo has gained the local, state, and national expertise to become a respected powerhouse in state and national politics. Mo is a trusted adviser and a tremendous asset to Mercury and our clients.”
