Today, former New Jersey Democratic State Committee Chairman Tom Byrne endorsed Democratic presidential candidate Mike Bloomberg. In his endorsement, Byrne pointed to Bloomberg’s leadership as mayor of New York City and success as a businessman in contrast to Donald Trump.

“Mike Bloomberg has been a visionary leader on key issues such as climate change, gun safety, and college affordability. He’s already had the second toughest job in politics – and New York City flourished with his leadership.” said Tom Byrne, Former Chairman New Jersey Democratic State Committee. “Bloomberg is the one candidate who can intimidate Donald Trump by contrasting his successes with Trump’s multiple business failures and victims. Bloomberg has done more for students and the poor than Bernie ever will. Mike Bloomberg will indeed get it done.”

The founder of Byrne Asset Management, Byrne is a former member of the New Jersey State Investment Council and served as its Chairman from 2015 to mid-2018. He served as a member of the New Jersey Pension and Health Benefit Study Commission. He also served two terms as Chairman of the Democratic State Committee in New Jersey and has also served as a Trustee of several other civic organizations.
