(Gloucester Township, NJ) –The Camden County Department of Health is announcing two new deaths caused by novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Camden County, as well as 116 additional confirmed cases of the disease. This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 2,943 in Camden County today and 125 total fatalities.

Case 1: Male, 70s, Voorhees

Case 2: Male, 90s, Voorhees

“Every death caused by this virus is a tragedy. It is easy to lose sight of just how quickly this pandemic took hold in the United States, and the number of families impacted in two short months is truly heartbreaking,” said Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. “I cannot say this strongly enough: stay home and do not gather in groups. Our state remains under a stay at home order because we have not yet beaten this virus. The more we bend these rules for short term pleasure, the longer this pandemic will ravage our communities. We must continue to stay home and social distance, that is the only way we break the back of this virus and save lives.”

In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 764 confirmed cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 2,943 in 27 of our 56 long-term care facilities. At this current time 103 deaths have been reported from these facilities from our 125 total fatalities countywide.
