Camden County Reports 14 New COVID-19 Cases, 84 Total as of Thursday

(Gloucester Township, NJ) –The Camden County Department of Health is announcing 14 additional positive case of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) identified in Camden County on Thursday, March 26th. Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.

“This virus has no boundaries, knows no limits and doesn’t discriminate based on age, town or gender. That said, we have not seen the kind of spikes that our counterparts in the north have had,” said Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. “In the last two weeks I have seen Camden County’s residents taking this threat seriously and embracing the recommendations surrounding social distancing. To everyone who is saving lives by staying home, I want to say thank you. You are making a profound difference in this fight.”

New Patient 6: Male, 20s, Gloucester Township

New Patient 7: Female, 70s, Voorhees

New Patient 8: Female, 60s, Cherry Hill

New Patient 9: Female 50s, Cherry Hill

New Patient 10: Female, 20s, Voorhees

New Patient 11: Male, 50s, Camden City

New Patient 12: Male, 20s, Gloucester Township

New Patient 13: Male, 20s, Oaklyn

New Patient 14, Female, 80s, Camden City

This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 84 in Camden County today and one total fatality today. At this point in time about 20% of patients inflicted by COVID-19 are being treated by one of three county health care systems.

The county Health Department is currently working with the NJDOH to trace close contacts of these newest cases. The investigations are still ongoing, and we will update the public with new developments as the information is gathered by our investigators.

The statewide COVID-19 case count as of 2pm Friday March 27th is 8825, and 108 fatalities, according to the NJDOH, a loss of 27 residents over the past 24 hours, and an increase of 1,982 cases.
