Camden County Reports 38 New COVID-19 Cases on Friday

Camden

(Gloucester Township, NJ) –The Camden County Department of Health is announcing one new death caused by novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Camden County, as well as 38 additional confirmed cases of the disease. This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 2,470 in Camden County today and 98 total fatalities as of Friday, April 24th.

The following information is currently available regarding the most recent death in Camden County:

Case 1: Female, 90s, Cherry Hill

“It saddens me deeply to announce that another member of the Camden County community has succumbed to COVID-19. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with those who have lost a loved one and those who are recovering from this insidious disease,” said Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. “Today marks the lowest new case total in Camden County since March, and that is thanks entirely to the people of this county who have adapted and resolved themselves to do whatever they can in order to stop the spread of coronavirus, save lives, and protect our front line personnel. We know this fight is not over, but the toll taken by this virus would undoubtedly be much worse if not for our residents’ perseverance and commitment social distancing.”

The Department of Health is also announcing 38 additional positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) identified in Camden County. Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.

In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 455 confirmed cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 2,470 in our 56 long-term care facilities. At this current time 76 deaths have been reported from these facilities from our 98 total fatalities countywide.
