Camden County Surpasses 1,250 COVID-19 Cases as of Sunday

Camden

(Gloucester Township, NJ) –The Camden County Department of Health announced 80 additional confirmed cases of patients with coronavirus (COVID-19) on Sunday, April 12th. This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 1,255 in Camden County today and 29 total fatalities.

“While many families are observing and celebrating the holidays at home, I am cautiously optimistic that our numbers are starting to level off a bit. Now, that said, I am not going as far to say that we have reached a plateau. I know our community is doing a yeoman’s job staying at home and following all of the mitigation guidance and it is making a significant impact limiting the spread.” said Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. “Federal officials have begun to signal that the next week will be critical in our fight to slow the spread, but it will also be one of the most difficult periods we experience as we navigate this crisis. Furthermore, we can minimize the burden placed on our hospitals and first responders if we take every precaution to avoid spreading and contracting this virus. Stay home, minimize trips outside, and per the CDC’s guidance, wear a face covering when in public to avoid spreading the virus to others. Together, we can break the back of this virus and win this fight.”

The Department of Health is also announcing 80 additional positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) identified in Camden County. Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.
