CD2 Moderate Republican Turkavage Makes his Pitch Directly to LoBiondo

Turkavage, right, with Bob Hugin.

Running for the seat in CD11 being vacated by retiring U.S. Rep. Frank LoBiondo (R-2), retired FBI agent Robert “Turk” Turkavage said he sent out personally addressed letters to every registered voter in the 2017 GOP Primary in Cumberland and Cape May counties and in a third of Atlantic.

Pursuing the GOP nomination in a crowded field dominated by front-runner Hirsh Singh, but which alss includes attorney Seth Grossman and former Assemblyman Sam Fiocchi, Turkavage said he went door to door in Ventnor and encountered a familiar face.

It was LoBiondo.

“I knocked on Frank LoBiondo’s door and he was across the street,” Turkavage told InsiderNJ. “He said, ‘Can I help you?’ I ended up having a 15-minute conversation with the guy. He rolled up his sleeves for the people of South Jersey and I’d like to do the same.”
