CD3 Flashpoint: DCCC Ad Lands on MacArthur
Today, the DCCC launched a new 30-second TV spot, “Author,” criticizing U.S. Rep. Tom MacArthur for authoring the health care repeal bill that would have deeply harmed New Jersey families. The six-figure ad buy will run on Philadelphia TV starting on Friday, October 26.
The ad highlights MacArthur’s motivations for authoring the health care repeal bill, noting that MacArthur accepted more than $400,000 in campaign cash from the drug and insurance industry.
“Time and again, Congressman MacArthur has put his special interest donors ahead of his constituents and their health care,” said DCCC Spokesman Evan Lukaske. “MacArthur took $400,000 from the insurance and drug industries and wrote a health care repeal bill that gutted protections for people with pre-existing conditions and allowed insurance companies to charge older people five times more than younger people. Voters are set to show MacArthur just how disgusted they are with his special interest sycophancy at the ballot box this November.”
