You know it’s getting hairy when one candidate compares another to Bigfoot.

That’s what is going on in CD5, where Steve Lonegan’s latest mailer zapped John McCann with the metaphor.

“John McCann claiming to be a Republican is about as real as Bigfoot,” the Lonegan mail piece claims.

The two men are running for the Republican nomination and the right to go up against incumbent U.S. Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-5) in the general election.
