There is considerable speculation in Somerset County about the intentions of Dr. Zenon Christodoulou, a businessman and vice chair of the Somerset County Democratic Party, who appears poised for his own challenge of U.S. Rep. Leonard Lance (R-7).

This weekend, fellow Democrat Linda Weber of Berkeley Heights announced her intentions to pursue the seat.

If Christodoulou moves ahead, Democrats could be looking at a Union v. Somerset Democratic Primary for the right to take on Lance in the 2018 general.

Or a Union v. Hunterdon v. Somerset primary.

Or a Union v. Somerset v. Somerset primary.

There are also other candidates feeling out a potential run against the incumbent Republican congressman, including Christine Lieu Chin of Bridgewater.

Chin is running against state Senator Mike Doherty (R-23) this year.
