Cheney a GOP Primary Albatross for Kean, Says Flora

Cheney

John Flora is not through yet with Liz Cheney.

At a “Meet and Greet” last week in Hunterdon County, Flora displayed a photo of CD-7 candidate Thomas H. Kean Jr. and Cheney with the caption – “Two RINOs – Perfect Together.”

Cheney, of course, is persona non grata among many Republicans after she voted to impeach Donald Trump in 2021; this was impeachment’s second go-around.

Not only that, Cheney has continued her criticism of Trump and the current state of the GOP.

After last week’s shooting in Buffalo, Cheney tweeted:

“The House GOP leadership has enabled white nationalism, white supremacy and antisemitism. History has taught us that what begins with words ends in far worse; leaders must renounce and reject these views and those who hold them.”

Flora, who is trying to become the conservative alternative to Kean in a crowded Republican primary field, was paying attention.

He wants Kean to reject Cheney’s comments and to sever all ties with her. Cheney has endorsed Kean.

Flora, who is the mayor of Fredon, Sussex County, said Cheney had become a “useful idiot” for Democrats.

In the immediate, you can expect Kean to do nothing.

More broadly, the fall from GOP favor is remarkable for Cheney. She is, of course, the daughter of Dick Cheney, a man once vilified by the left.

Flora warns, “If Tom Kean fails to reject Cheney and disassociate his campaign from her, then he must be rejected by Republicans on June 7. Surely his embrace of the dangerous RINO Cheney will prove his downfall if he wins the Republican primary election.”

  1. Sure that’s exactly what NJ needs: Brownshirts leading our government. Flora sounds like he has “Il Duce” aspirations. The real RINOs are the unamerican unpatriotic fascist scum who soil our heritage under their MAGA banner.

Lincoln broke away from the pro-slavery Whigs to support a newly founded anti-slavery Republican Party. I’d be surprised if Flora or his MAGAt friends know that.

Maybe it’s time for real Americans- those who believe in the founding fathers – to form a “New Republican Party” and isolate the MAGAts for what they are.
