Speaker Craig J. Coughlin issued the following statement today on the announcement that Anthony “Skip” Cimino is stepping down as the Executive Director of the Assembly Majority Office:

“I want to thank Skip Cimino for his great and dedicated service to the General Assembly over these past four years.

“I am extremely proud of all we have been able to accomplish together, and it is in large part to the leadership of Anthony ‘Skip’ Cimino. Skip’s experience was instrumental in the legislature’s ability to increase the state’s minimum wage, reform the state’s out-of-network medical billing practices and expand access to working families as we all work to recover throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. His love for the people of New Jersey has been evident in his time at the Assembly Majority Office and he will be missed.

“I wish Skip much success as he enters the next phase in his distinguished career.”

“It has been an honor to return to the General Assembly and support the Democratic members in my capacity at the Assembly Majority Office these last four years,” said Anthony Cimino, a former Democratic Assemblyman having represented the 14th Legislative District from 1988-1992 and served as Commissioner of Personnel in the Florio Administration. Before being elected to the General Assembly, he served as a Mercer County Freeholder for six years, where he was Board President, and also served as a member of the Hamilton Township Board of Education, serving two terms as President. He has had a long and distinguished career, including being the President and CEO of Robert Wood Johnson (RWJ) University Hospital in Hamilton.

Speaker Coughlin will name Cimino’s successor later this week.
