Former North Ward Councilman Hector Corchado wants back on the Newark City Council, this time as an at-large exemplar.

Corchado, who surrendered his North Ward seat to Anibal Ramos in 2006 then returned triumphantly to city hall as a deputy police director, braved the cold this past week to collect petition signatures.

He'll be taking a crack at incumbents Luis Quintana, Carlos Gonzalez, Mildred Crump, and Eddie Osborne, who have all saddled up as key members of Team Baraka.
