Cotton Now Officially Mayor of Paterson Following Torres Resignation
Ruby Cotton of the 4th Ward is now officially the acting mayor of Paterson.
After pleading guilty to corruption charges, former Mayor Jose “Joey” Torres resigned this morning at 9 a.m., formally handing the reins of executive government to Cotton.
Cotton is the city’s first African American woman mayor of the Silk City.
By city statute, Cotton became mayor after Torres’ jam-up as a consequence of serving as the council president.

God help that city, The Democrats have officially taken over, this is the official end for Paterson. There is no mayor, the city council is now running the city. They just move one of their own over to the office.
