Over 75 supporters packed a Burlington backyard tonight in support of LD7 Democratic Party Assembly candidate Carol Murphy, among them a very at home and comfortable-looking Assemblyman Craig Coughlin (D-19).

Coughlin earlier today flexed his muscles in what appears to have been a successful effort to crowd sitting Speaker Vincent Prieto (D-32) out of the leadership picture. Then he celebrated with that regional core that initially welded itself to Coughlin’s own Middlesex: South Jersey.

The others rallying around Murphy (who wants the seat Assemblyman Troy Singleton plans to vacate as he cements the LD7 senate seat in November) included Assembly Majority Leader Lou Greenwald (D-6), Assemblywoman Gabriela Mosquera (D-4), Assemblywoman Pam Lampitt (D-6), Assemblywoman Pat Jones (D-5), and Tammy Murphy, wife of Democratic gubernatorial nominee Phil Murphy.
