TRENTON – Speaker Craig Coughlin prevailed on his Democratic caucus this evening to hold a budget vote tonight.

A few in the caucus resisted.

Let’s get it done Monday, Speaker.

No reason to draw out the day.

But Coughlin pushed back.

Better to do it tonight, he argued.

The caucus was with him.

Supports him.

“Watch the votes,” a source said. “Budget votes will tell the tale.”
