“Let me tell you something different. I’m a chief for a local police department,” said Kugler.

Then he had some very tough words.

“If this don’t happen tonight, I’m going to have to wait. If this don’t happen tonight, I’m going to be your next sheriff,” Kugler said.

There were gasps.

“I like DeLorenzo,” a mischievously grinning Democrat said as Kugler and Cureton sweated out the questions at the front of the room.

The GOP last night picked Hasbrouck Heights Mayor Jack DeLorenzo.

“The chairman wasn’t even going to allow me to come up onstage,” Kugler said. “You need to consider each and every person.”
