New Jersey Democratic State Committee Chairman and Vice Chair John Currie and Lizette Delgado-Polanco today respectively announced their intentions to seek another term as the leaders of the state Democratic Party campaign organization.

The team has the support of both Governor-elect Phil Murphy and Lt. Gov-elect Sheila Oliver.

“I am humbled by the continued support and encouragement that I, Lizette Delgado-Polanco and our entire leadership team have received from rank and file party members, leaders in organized labor, and countless others,” said Currie. “We have had the privilege of presiding over four consecutive election cycles, during which New Jersey Democrats broke with the national trend and elected more officials who, I might add, are more representative of our state’s rich diversity. I believe that we remain best suited to moving our party organization forward, and we are eager to tackle the challenges of another term.

“I am particularly honored that Governor-Elect and Lt. Governor-Elect Sheila Oliver have endorsed my reelection and that of my team,” added the state party chair, who has served in the position since 2013. “I look forward to working with the Murphy-Oliver administration to advocate for their agenda and elect more Democrats throughout New Jersey.”

“I am excited about the prospect of another term fighting alongside my friend and Chairman John Currie,” said Delgado-Polanco, political director for the Carpenters. “I am proud of the diversity we bring to these positions, and I believe that our record of accomplishment is second to none. I also appreciate the confidence of Governor-Elect Murphy and Lt. Governor-Elect Oliver, and I am proud that they have endorsed our candidacy.  I look forward to continuing the Democratic Party agenda of advancing the voices of labor and the working men and women of the state of New Jersey.
