Democratic Insider Turner Nominated to Serve on the Port Authority

Governor Chris Christie today nominated lobbyist/attorney Caren Turner to be a member of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

Senate Majority Leader Loretta Weinberg put up the name of Turner, a longtime Democratic operative and CEO of Turner Government and Public Affairs.

The nominations of Turner and state Senator Kevin O’Toole (R-40) signify deal-making by long-term foes Christie and Weinberg.

A co-chair of the joint committee that investigated Bridgegate, Weinberg was one of the state’s fiercest critics of the Christie era Port Authority.
