The last vestiges of the Fajardo organization was wiped out of the Democratic Committee in Elizabeth on Tuesday night. Mayor Chris Bollwage now has a unanimous committee 124-0 for the first time.

They had contested only 18 seats, mostly in the Fourth Ward and lost all of them.

For the first time in the 26 years he’s been Mayor, Bollwage now has every seat on the Elizabeth Democratic Committee.

Ironically, Fajardo’s organization expired even as state senator Ray Lesniak (D-20) – his longtime rival – lost his home district in a quixotic bid for governor – a double kayo on the night.
