Enraged Commuters Blister Murphy Over Storm Prep And Response On Social Media
As New Jersey finds itself barraged with snow on the roads, causing massive delays, angry commuters have been making their feelings towards the state’s storm response known on Facebook and Twitter, responding to Governor Murphy’s updates on his public pages. A cursory glance at the hundreds of comments – some restrained, but many laced with profanity – show the level of anger directed at the state over what they see as a lack of preparation – plowing, salting – for the storm and a slow response.
According to NJ.com, Murphy said there are nearly 1,000 plows dispatched on the roads to clear the snow. The NJ State Police released an advisory with storm tips and relevant information, as the state activated its Emergency Center. Friday morning, NJ.com reported that Murphy said the state was prepared but caught offguard by the storm’s magnitude. ‘Nobody got this right. This gives forecasting a bad name’, he said on WCBS.
Even former Governor Christie tweeted in response to Murphy, noting his own travel time from Piscataway to Mendham.
It took me 5 hours and 40 minutes to travel from Piscataway to Mendham. #snowmess https://t.co/7jhstTjfgX

New Jersey’s Statewide Traffic Management Center in Woodbridge – including officials from @NJSP, @NJDOT_info, @GSParkway, and @NJTurnpike – continues to track roadways. The storm was worse originally forecasted. We will not stop working until our roads are clear. pic.twitter.com/1I9zGuVgxd

Just another example that Gov. Phil “Pot” Murphy has no clue as to what he’s doing.Christie and staff were incompetent and vindictive, but Murphy’s crew is literally and figuratively “in the weeds.”
