Essex County Reports 6,549 COVID-19 Cases as of Friday; Newark Has Over 100 Fatalities

Essex County reports a total of 6,549 COVID-19 cases and 351 fatalities as of Friday, April 10th.

Friday’s count is an increase from Thursday’s 6,034 total cases and 312 fatalities.

Newark has the highest case count of any town, with 2,296 cases and 102 fatalities total.

According to the NJDOH, there have been 3,627 new cases, for a statewide total of  54,588 cases, on Friday, April 10th.  There has been an additional 232 fatalities, for a statewide total of 1,932 deaths.
