Essex County Tops 5,000 COVID-19 Cases as of Tuesday

Essex County reports a total of 5,042 COVID-19 cases and 231 fatalities as of Tuesday, April 7th.

Tuesday’s count is an increase from Monday’s 4,467total cases and 185 fatalities.

Newark has the highest case count of any town, with 1,698 cases and 65 fatalities.

The NJDOH reports that as of Tuesday, April 7th, there are 44,416 COVID-19 cases statewide and 1,232 fatalities.  That’s an increase of 3,361 cases and 232 deaths since Monday.
