Fiordaliso: ‘New Jersey Got Literally Whacked’
Joe Fiordaliso, president of the New Jerey Board of Public Utilities, didn’t mince words when assessing the damage of Hurricane Isiasis.
“New Jersey got literally whacked,” Fiordaliso said at this afternoon’s press briefing.
In total, 1.4 million without power.
By comparison, Hurricane Sandy at its peak left 1.7 million without power.
“Here’s a storm that came through the entire state of New Jersey; we still had devastating damage,” Firodaliso said. “We are now down to 977,000 [without power]. There are almost 500,000 who have been restored.”
Regionally, 3.5 million homes were without power in 14 states.
