Florio Perrucci Steinhardt & Cappelli today formally announced the changing of the firm name to Florio Perrucci Steinhardt Cappelli Tipton & Taylor LLC.  Brian Tipton and Lester Taylor have become named partners of the firm.

This name change signifies the firm’s appreciation for its history while recognizing its maturity, growth and vision for the future.

“When Governor Jim Florio and I started our firm, we had a vision of creating a unique and special law firm.  We are so proud to add Brian and Lester as named partners.  They exemplify our values and commitment to our clients”, says Mike Perrucci.

Tipton adds, “Being the firm’s Managing Partner and practicing here for 20 years, I appreciate that my hard work is recognized by my colleagues. And, I thank Lester for his contributions to the firm. He certainly deserves this.”

Taylor says, “Having been selected by my partners to be included along with Brian Tipton as a named partner is by far the most rewarding and humbling professional accomplishment to date in my career.  While all of the named partners, and attorneys at this law firm, are among the most well-respected and versed legal practitioners in the law, being affiliated with New Jersey’s 49th Governor, James J. Tipton, a resident of Harmony, is Managing Partner of the firm and Chairs its litigation group.  He has extensive experience in complex business, commercial, construction and public contract law matters. Tipton also represents clients in matters involving commercial real estate, redevelopment, and land use matters.  Tipton is the Mayor of Harmony Township, a position he has held for 13 years.  He is licensed in both federal and state courts in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York.  He is a member of the Warren County, New Jersey and Northampton County, Pennsylvania bar associations. In addition, Tipton is a Phillipsburg Firth Youth Center Board Member.  He received his undergraduate degree from Washington College and his law degree from Vermont Law School.

Taylor, a resident of East Orange, represents counties, municipalities and boards of education throughout New Jersey in matters related to general counsel services, special education, litigation, labor, employment, and redevelopment. Taylor served as Mayor of the City of East Orange, New Jersey from 2014-2017. Taylor has received numerous awards and recognition from various civic organizations and often volunteers his time speaking with students on the importance of education and developing leadership skills. Currently, Taylor serves on the Board of the Three Doctors Foundation, the United Way of Essex and West Hudson Counties, Sustainable Jersey, and Jersey Water Works. Taylor frequently attends and conducts legal seminars to stay abreast of changes in the law. He graduated from Montclair State University and earned his JD from Howard University School of Law.
