Former Essex County Freeholder Rolando Bobadilla plans to formally endorse Bob Hugin for U.S. Senate in Newark tomorrow.

Bobadilla served as a North Ward-based freeholder from 2011 to 2018.

The party organization parted company with him when they decided against reupping him last year.

Bobadilla began losing political traction within the North Ward Democratic Organization as power shifted over the last several years.

Last week, he changed his party affiliation from Democrat to independent.
