Former Senator Francis McManimon Has Died

Former Senator Francis J. McManimon has died.
Born in Trenton in 1926 and a resident of Hamilton Township in Mercer County, he served in the General Assembly from 1972-1982 in LD13 and then the Senate from 1982-1992 in LD14.
In the Assembly, he served as Assistant Majority Leader and in the Senate as Vice-Chair of the Transportation and Communications Committee.
An old-school politician and ward heeler type, he was respected on both sides of the aisle by his legislative colleagues.
A Navy veteran who served in World War II, he was Hamilton's Superintendent of the Parks and Recreation Division for 30 years.
Late last year, a portion of Route 195 was renamed in McManimon's honor.
He was 93.
Good Man Who Helped All Deserving. God Bless
RIP to the great Sen, McManimon. He truly understood the value of bipartisanship.
