Former Mayor Sharpe James Endorses Team Baraka
At South Ward Councilman John Sharpe James‘ fundraiser this afternoon, former Newark Mayor Sharpe James endorsed Team Baraka ahead of next Tuesday’s municipal election.
Incumbent Mayor Ras Baraka is up, leading a council slate of at-large incumbents Mildred Crump, Luis Quintana, Eddie Osborne, and Carlos Gonzalez, and newcomer LaMonica McIvor in the Central Ward (where incumbent Gayle Chaneyfield-Jenkins is pursuing the mayoralty), Anibal Ramos in the North Ward, Joseph McCallum in the West Ward, Augusto Amador in the East Ward, and James in the South Ward.
