General Majority PAC Drops into LD11 with Anti-Beck Ad

The General Majority PAC this morning engaged in LD11 for the first time on behalf of Democratic state Senate candidate Vin Gopal.

Gopal is challenging state Senator Jennifer Beck (R-11) in the state’s most closely-watched battleground districts.

The independent expenditure is identified as the PAC arm of South Jersey Democratic Party powerbroker George Norcross III.

“Monmouth County Senator Jennifer Beck writes a [bill] on mental healthcare and gets her colleagues to support the [bill],” the narrator in the ad says. He then points out that toxically unpopular Governor Chris Christie opposed the bill.

“Beck is so loyal to Christie, she stopped supporting her own law,” the voice in the ad says. “Beck’s been one of Christie’s top allies. …When Chris Christie says jump, Jen Beck asks how high.”

A Republican source jeered at the ad, saying he’d rather have the radio spot kicking around out there than the TV buy on the horizon for Senator Colin Bell in LD2.

  1. Jen may not be the best senator, but at least she won’t be a puppet of Norcross, Sweeny and the Camden County machine. Read my lips, “Vin will raise your taxes.” You also have to wonder what Norcross will get out of this. He doesn’t make investments without expecting returns.
