Gloucester County Reports 20 New COVID-19 Cases, 170 Total as of Thursday

The Gloucester County Department of Health and Human Services and Office of Emergency Management have announced 20 more positive COVID-19 cases in Gloucester County.

As of Thursday morning, April 2, 2020, Gloucester County has conducted 1,149 tests. Of those tests 957 are negatives, 170 are positives and 22 are still pending. Gloucester County’s total positive COVID-19 cases is 170.

On Wednesday, the county had reported 30 new cases for a total of 150 cases.

The 151st case is a 79-year-old male from Mantua.

The 152nd case is a 76-year-old male from Monroe Township.

The 153rd case is a 71-year-old male from Monroe Township.

The 154th case is a 78-year-old female from Deptford.

The 155th case is a 51-year-old male from Washington Township.

The 156th case is a 30-year-old male from Monroe Township.

The 157th case is a 53-year-old female from Woodbury.

The 158th case is a 25-year-old female from Monroe Township.

The 159th case is a 27-year-old female from Paulsboro.

The 160th case is a 10-year-old female from Paulsboro.

The 161st case is a 22-year-old female from Washington Township.

The 162nd case is a 60-year-old female from Washington Township.

The 163rd case is a 59-year-old female from Monroe Township.

The 164th case is a 37-year-old male from Washington Township.

The 165th case is a 50-year-old female from Washington Township.

The 166th case is a 60-year-old female from Monroe Township.

The 167th case is a 63-year-old female from Woolwich.

The 168th case is a 45-year-old female from East Greenwich.

The 169th case is a 72-year-old female from Deptford.

At this time, the overall threat of COVID-19 to Gloucester County residents remains low. Gloucester County is expecting cases to rise. Social distancing is critical in flattening the curve and reducing cases. A mask should only be worn if a healthcare professional recommends it.

New Jersey residents can call 2-1-1 or 1-800-962-1253 with questions. The call center is open 24/7 and has multi-language capacity.

Most people with mild symptoms do not need to be tested. It is important to stay home and isolate from others while sick.

The statewide COVID-19 count is 25,590 cases and 537 fatalities,as of Thusday April 2nd, an increase of 3,489 cases and 182 deaths since Wednesday.
