Council President Daniel Golabek Named Elmwood Park Mayor

Council President Daniel Golabek was unanimously selected by the council to assume the mayoralty of Elmwood Park. He replaces Frank Caramagna, who was arrested on voter fraud charges last month and subsequently resigned.

Council President Daniel Golabek was unanimously selected by the Council to assume the mayoralty of Elmwood Park in Bergen County tonight.

First elected in 2015, Golabek, 24, becomes one of the youngest mayors in the state.  He succeeds Democrat Frank Caramagna, who was arrested on voter fraud charges last month and subsequently resigned.

Succeeding Golabek as Council President is Lorraine Pellegrine.

Golabek’s younger brother, Jakub, serves on the EP Board of Education.
