Gottheimer Self-Quarantines after Bergen Press Conference
U.S. Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-5) has gone into quarantine after appearing with other public officials at a press conference with Holy Name Medical Center CEP Michael Maron.
Maron has tested positive for the coronavirus.
At the epicenter of New Jersey’s fight against COVID-19, Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco is also under quarantine after appearing at the same event with Maron. The county executive is said to be all right, maintaining his work schedule, and working from an undisclosed location.
Gottheimer too is said to be feeling fine, with no symptoms, and quarantined as a precationary measure.
Gottheimer, like the Bergen county executive, took an early lead on the public announcement front as his county absorbed an aggressive and unabated influx of the virus.
From a report by veteran reporter Jerry DeMarco:
Maron was among those at a news conference in Teaneck last Sunday with Holy Name Medical Center Chief Medical Officer Dr. Adam Jarrett, Teaneck Mayor Mohammed Hameeduddin, Township Manager Dean Kazinci, County Executive Tedesco, County Sheriff Anthony Cureton and Congressman Josh Gottheimer.
