InsiderNJ legal analyst and veteran defense attorney Joe Hayden said he has profound respect for Grubir Grewal’s legal ability, describing Grubir as one of “three first rate finalists” for the job of attorney general.

“I am very impressed by his commitment to social justice and the persistent manner in which he wants to treat drug offenders,” Hayden said.

“He has said ‘you cannot indict your way out of the heroin epidemic,’ demonstrating creativity far beyond what we’ve usually seen in the criminal justice arena,” the legal analyst added.

At the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Grubir headed the economic fraud division and Hayden said that expertise will also prove germane in his new job.
